High Voltage,当心碰头 Mind Your Head,当心踏空 Watch Your Step,紧急时击碎玻璃 Break Glass in Emergency等。“小心……”,“注意……”,多译为Mind或Watch,如小心台阶 Mind the Step,注意上方 Watch Your Head。当提示意味较强的时候也译为Caution,如小心地滑,如果地面建筑材质本身较光滑时译为Caution! Slippery;如果是因为表面上有水等情况时,则译为Caution! Wet Floor。指示入口/出口的方向时译为Way in/ Way out。 说明性标志 一般用短语或祈使句表示,句中或短语中实意单词的首字母大写,介词、冠词小写,如仅供紧急情况下译为Emergency Use Only,车内发生紧急情况时,请按按钮报警 Press Button in Emergency等,如句子较长,则仅句首字母大写即可,如 Please close the door behind you。 禁止性标志 “请勿……”,“禁止……”一般都译为“Don’ t…”, “No…”,或“…Forbidden”,“… Prohibited”,句中或短语中各个单词的首字母都大写。如请勿登踏 Don’ t Step On,请勿乱扔废弃物 No Littering, 严禁携带易燃易爆等危险品进站 Dangerous Articles Prohibited, 禁止摆卖 Vendors Prohibited等。 功能设施信息 通常采用英文直接翻译,应符合国际通用惯例,遵循英语语言习惯,英文单词首字母大写,其余小写,介词、冠词小写。 不同“口”的译法,一般“入口”以及“……入口”均译为Entrance,如“剧院入口”译为Entrance即可;而“出口”以及“……出口”均译为Exit,如“剧院出口”译为Exit即可,“紧急出口”译为Emergency Exit。 楼层,如“1楼/层、2楼/层、3楼/层”等固定缩写为F1、F2、F3;地下1层、2层、3层固定缩写为B1、B2、B3。 电梯译为Elevator/Lift,扶梯译为Escalator,步行楼梯译为Stairs。 前台、服务台、接待一般译为 Reception;问询处、咨询台译为Information。 厕所、洗手间、卫生间、盥洗室统一为Toilet,涉及性别时,男厕译为 Gents/Men; 女厕译为 Ladies/Women。 残疾人译为Disabled, 残疾人专用译为Disabled Only;无障碍设施译为Wheelchair Accessible,如在通道内标识Wheelchair Accessible表示无障碍通道,在厕所内标识Wheelchair Accessible表示无障碍厕位。 旅游景点通名 通名通常采用英文直接翻译,英文单词首字母大写,其余小写。 植物园译为 Botanical Garden,如xx植物园xx Botanical Garden。 博物馆 一般名称译为xxxx Museum, Museum放在最后,如历史博物馆 History Museum。 某机构的博物馆译为xxxx Museum of xxxx(机构名), 如大钟寺古钟博物馆Ancient Bell Museum of Great Bell Temple。 纪念馆 历史名人的纪念馆译为Memorial,人名不加’s, 如xxx纪念馆xxx Memorial。 历史事件或事迹的纪念馆译为Memorial Museum,如xxx纪念馆 xxx Memorial Museum。 故居译为Former Residence,如吴晗故居 Former Residence of Wu Han。 展览馆、陈列馆译为Exhibition Hall/Exhibition Center,会展中心译为Convention & Exhibition Center。 陈列室译为 Exhibition Room/Display Room。 宫、院译为Palace 殿、堂译为 Hall 寺译为Temple, 如 双林寺 Shuanglin Temple 亭、阁译为Pavilion 一般的塔译为Pagoda 牌楼译为Memorial Archway 高山译为 Dynasty,但如果前面含方位词时,方位词应译成英文,如西周Western Zhou Dynasty、东汉Eastern Han Dynasty。 专名 通常采用汉语拼音 经营类信息 通常采用英文直接翻译,应符合国际通用惯例。如旅游纪念品商店Souvenir Shop,礼品店 Gift Shop。 义乌市公共标识英文译法规范 第3部分 商业服务业 商业 commerce 主要指商品在流通环节中的批发活动和零售活动。 服务业 service industry 包括住宿业、餐饮业、美容美发业、洗染业、修理业、典当业、拍卖业、租赁业、摄影业、家政业、旅馆业的企业和从业人员。 商业服务业的双语标识按内容可分为:警示提示信息、功能设施、企业名称及业态类、经营服务信息、商品名称、服务人员名称、部门名称等。 具体要求: 企业名称及业态类 1.1.1 市场(城)、购物中心、广场、商场和商店 1.1.1.1义乌具有较多的市场(城),通常我们可用market(city)表示:篁园市场 Huangyuan Market 宾王市场 Binwang Market 中国小商品城China Commodity City 义乌国际商贸城 Yiwu International Trade City 1.1.1.2 规模巨大,集购物、休闲、娱乐、饮食等于一体,包括百货店、大卖场以及众多专业连锁零售店在内的超级商业中心译为Mall,如购物中心或大型商场都译为Shopping Mall。 1.1.1.3 中等规模的购物中心译为Shopping Center,如旅游购物中心Tourism Shopping Center。 1.1.1.4 只针对货品进行分类销售、不具有休闲娱乐等多种功能的较小规模的商店、店铺译为Store或Shop,如百货公司 Department Store,精品店 Fancy Shop。 1.1.1.5 商业性写字楼群或购物中心译为Plaza,如伊美广场Yimei Plaza;而一般在城市中用作花园或休闲场所,周围被街道和建筑物环绕的四方形开放区域则译为Square,如绣湖广场Xiuhu Square。某大型超市或商场的分店,一般译为Branch表示,如有加利超市香山店Eucalyptus Supermarket, Xiangshan Branch。 1.1.2 酒家、酒楼、酒店、酒吧 酒家、酒楼、酒店等提供餐饮服务,性质就是饭店、餐馆的地方,全部翻译为Restaurant;而专门供人喝酒、小憩的“酒馆、酒店”则译为Wineshop;酒吧译为Bar。 文化娱乐场所 剧院通常译为Theater,书店通常译为Book Store,图书馆通常译为Library,文化馆通常译为Cultural Center,音像店通常译为Audio-Video Shop,网吧通常译为Internet Café,其他娱乐场所可统一翻译为Entertainment Place / Entertainment Area。 1.1.3.1 在剧场中,一般情况下表示功能的区域译为Area,如贵宾区 VIP Area;特殊情况如表示座位的区域译为Seat,如单号区Odd Number Seats,双号区 Even Number Seats。 已经被社会普遍接受的单位名称,继续延用,如大德药店 Dade Pharmacy。 1.2 经营服务信息 通常采用英文直接翻译,应符合国际通用惯例,如特卖场,Special Sales;电话号码簿、信息查询,Yellow Pages。 1.3 商品名称 1.3.1 服装 1.3.1.1作为衣服的总称,包含衣裤、鞋帽、手套等,一般译为Clothing或Clothes,如夏装 Summer Clothing、成衣 Ready-Made Clothes。 1.3.1.2 流行、时尚服饰译为Fashion。 1.3.1.3 妇女、儿童服装或特殊场合穿的礼服译为Dress,如民族服装 Ethnic Dress、晚礼服 Evening Dress、夏季连衣裙 Summer Dress。 1.3.1.4 套装(男人穿的上衣、背心和裤子,或女人穿的上衣和裙子)译为Suit,如男式西装 Men’s Suit。 1.3.1.5 男士服装译为Men’s Wear; 女士服装译为Women’s Wear。 1.3.2 书籍 通常分为文学类Literature、艺术类Arts、学术类Academic Books、工商类Business Administration、科学类Science、实用类Practical Books、教育类Education、工程类Engineering、电脑类Computer、实业类Industry、其他Miscellaneous等11大类图书销售区。 服务人员名称
